You may do this in person or through an authorised representative.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p><b>How long will my single permit for self-employment be valid?<\/b><\/p> <p>The single permit will be issued for a fixed period, but for no more than two years. To extend it, you must submit an application at the Administrative Unit before the expiry of the permit and meet all statutory conditions.<\/p> <p>If you are applying for a single permit for self-employment as a <i>subsequent permit<\/i>, it shall be issued with a validity of two years.<\/p>         <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"ow-accordion-item\">\n    <button to obtain a single permit for self-employment?<\/b><\/p> <p>To be issued with a single permit, you must meet the general conditions for temporary residence that apply to all foreign nationals, as well as specific conditions related to self-employment.<\/p> <p><b>General conditions under Article 33 of the Foreigners Act:<\/b><\/p> <ul> <li>a valid passport;<\/li> <li>appropriate health insurance;<\/li> <li>sufficient means of subsistence during your stay in the Republic of Slovenia;<\/li> <li>absence of grounds for refusal to issue the permit (e.g. security reasons).<\/li> <\/ul> <p><b>Specific conditions for a self-employed person:<\/b><\/p> <ul> <li>at least one year of continuous lawful residence in Slovenia (unless you carry out an independent professional activity);<\/li> tied to the actual performance of a self-employed activity. If you cease carrying out the activity, you must notify the Administrative Unit in due time.<\/li>\n<li>Insufficient or inadequate evidence of the actual performance of the activity is a common reason for refusal to issue or renew the permit.<\/li>\n<li>If you carry out an independent professional activity, you may become self-employed even before completing one year of lawful residence in the
